Improved Access Clinics
Improved access clinics are provided to help people who need same day appointments. There is an Improved Access clinic in every area of Gloucestershire. Your nearest clinic is at The Vale Hospital or at either of the surgeries in Wotton-under-Edge but you can go to whichever clinic is most convenient for you. The clinics are staffed by experienced local GPs. Clinics are open during the week, including Saturdays.

Positive future for Marybrook Medical Centre
I am writing to inform you that following a long and dedicated career at Marybrook Medical Centre, Senior Partner, Dr Peader Walshe, has decided to retire from the Practice with effect from 1 October, 2018. The Practice would like to thank Dr Walshe for his leadership, support and service over the last 24 years and wish him all the best for the future.
On behalf of NHS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), which is responsible for ensuring local people have access to high quality primary (GP surgery) care, I would like to reassure you of our 100% commitment to service continuity and a bright future for Marybrook Medical Centre.
Following the news of Dr Walshe’s intention to retire, we have been working with the Practice team and the Local Medical Committee to ensure that the Marybrook Medical Centre can continue to go from strength to strength from October 2018.
We are pleased to confirm that a contract has been agreed for Church Street Medical Partnership to manage services at Marybrook for an initial twelve months. This will ensure strong leadership, resilience and stability for the Practice during this period of change. Church Street Medical Partnership is well-respected and well led, already providing primary care services in Tewkesbury and Cheltenham and we are confident that this agreement represents a very positive development for patients and existing Practice staff.
Church Street Medical Partnership is looking forward to bringing their wealth of experience and enthusiasm to support the excellent and dedicated Practice team here at Marybrook. Everyone will be working together to ensure you and your family have access to the very best care and choice of appointments.
We are also delighted to tell you that two new GPs will be joining the team at Marybrook this autumn. We are sure you will join us in welcoming them and we are confident that they will be a great addition to the Practice.
You can continue to access services at Marybrook in the same way as you have always done. Church Street Medical Partnership will provide further updates on the range of services available, including clarification on roles and responsibilities within the Practice and the other services available in the local community, such as the Improved Access appointments at Vale Community Hospital.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank members of Marybrook’s Patient Participation Group who have been working closely with us over the last few weeks to ensure patients are informed of developments.
